The
LIFA exam is administered under standardized conditions throughout the world.
In other words, it is administered the same way to everyone who takes it. Consequently,
there are some very specific procedures and regulations relating to the administration
of the LIFA exam at each exam center. You should understand that there is no flexibility
about these regulations and that the exam administrator cannot make exceptions.
The following regulations apply during the entire LIFA exam administration, which
begins at sign-in, includes breaks, and ends at sign-out. Violations will be documented
by the exam administrator:
- You are required to present acceptable
and valid identification such as a valid driver's license or passport.
- ID
verification at the exam center may also include thumb-printing, photographing,
videotaping, or other forms of electronic ID confirmation. If you refuse to participate,
you will not be permitted to take the exam and you will forfeit your exam fee.
-
You will be asked to sign a confidentiality statement at the exam center. Your
signature is required. If you do not sign the statement, you will not be permitted
to take the exam and you will forfeit your exam fee.
- Only the HP-12C and TI BAII+ calculators
are allowed. All calculators will be cleared of memory before the start of the
exam.
- You will not be permitted to use testing aids during the exam session
or during breaks.
- You may not communicate with anyone, including exam
administrators, about the content of the LIFA exam while the exam session is in
progress or during breaks.
- You will not be permitted to leave the exam
center premises during the exam session or during breaks.
- You may not
use telephones or cell phones during the exam session or during breaks. Cell phones
and pagers will not be allowed in the exam center.
- You may not remove
scratch paper from the exam room at any time. All scratch paper must be returned
after the exam session.
- Under no circumstances may exam questions or any
part of them be reproduced, and/or disclosed by any means (e.g., hard
copy, verbally, electronically) to any person or entity.
- Disruptive behavior
in any form will not be tolerated.
- The exam administrator has sole discretion
in determining what constitutes disruptive behavior.
The exam administrator
is authorized to dismiss you from an exam session for:
- attempting
to take the exam for someone else
- failing to provide acceptable identification
- creating a disturbance giving or receiving unauthorized help
-
eating or drinking during the exam
- using testing aids of any kind
- leaving the exam center
- attempting
to remove scratch paper from the exam room
- attempting to remove exam
questions (in any format) from the exam room
- failing to adhere to any
of the other procedures and regulations cited on this web site or in other official
International Research Association publications
- refusing to follow directions
Failure
to comply with the exam procedures and regulations or with the exam administrator's
directions can result in the International Research Association taking actions
that include, but are not limited to, barring you from future LIFA exams and /or
canceling your exam scores. If your scores are canceled, they will not be reported,
and your exam fee will be forfeited.
